Travel Tips for Traveling to Luxembourg

Luxembourg, or the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is one of Europe’s smallest landlocked independent states in Western Europe. It has a population of about 640,000, an area of about 2,586 square kilometers, and the official languages are Luxembourgish, French and German. Its neighboring countries are Belgium, Germany and France.

Over the centuries, the country has sometimes been an independent duchy, but often also a part of neighboring countries. The country’s wealth once came from the steel industry, but in recent decades banking has become more important. Luxembourgish food is said to combine the sophistication of French cuisine with the fullness of German food.
